I'm sure this is old news to most people. Transitional rules were announced today so anyone who was thinking there was a chance this wouldn't happen, get ready.

In any case, you might be wondering why I've stuck this in this forum instead of Off Topic.

We already pay both taxes on stuff we buy from our LHS. Nothing earth shattering there.

HOWEVER, I do buy a lot of stuff from HW and GH for which I only pay 5% GST.

Well, what's going to happen is on July 1 2010 (next summer), you're going to have to pay 13% on stuff you buy mail order from HW or GH, not just the 5%.

Make sure you buy your online stuff before July 1 or it'll cost you 8% more.
