Here are a few shots of the oak rails installed at the firewall and the landing gear plate and further reinforced with screws as per the plans. The landing gear is drilled and the oak rails have been tapped for 8-32 screws (I need to get some 8-32 socket head cap screws this week)
I`m looking forward to Toledo - we`ll get a 35% E330 Graphtech G2 gear for this machine!!!
The only place I saved a bit of weight was the landing gear rails.. the stock rails go right to the angled bottom-plate of the m-box. Jacks are shorter and
saved 0.5oz. I've done this in all my 35% and 40% builds and never had a problem!
Total savings = 17.3oz so far !!!
