"Chord" may not be the correct term. It actually refers to the distance between leading and trailing edge.

What I was trying to say is that the glue is applied to then entire surface of the wing (where it was cut in half and sanded to give the correct dihedral) -- think rib side and you're not far from the mark.

The dihedral brace slots got through the entire wing. More strength for the glue joint and the maximum surface area for the glue to "bite".
