hey guys
i was at full throttle this past weekend for the glorcs final and before i left friday morning i bought myself i brand new picco evo2 p7r motor to put into my truggy for the race since my old evo had alot of fuel through it.
the friday at full throttle was very cold and windy( guys can vouch for that after seeing my destroyed pit tent) so i had to break my new motor in . got out the heat gun and warmed it up good before firing it up to start break in.
was on my third tank at idle and i had the heat gun propped up so it was aiming at the motor to keep the temps around 200.
while it was idling with the heat gun against the motor i went to pit for teffflawn in his buggy qualifier . 5 minutes later i came back to find my motor had quit. i figured it just ran out of fuel and then went to start it again after filling up and no dice. after alot of frustration trying to figire out what went wrong i discovered that the wind had blown the heat gun slightly enough to make it melt a huge hole in the inner and out air filter . all the freshly melted crud went right down the carb into my nice 300 plus dollar motor and toasted it. motor kaput.
lesson for today fellow racers,
dont leave a heat gun on your motor unattended on a very windy day or else you will truely be sorry. i know i am. lol
