the pt #'s are a good one to go by. have any pictures or descriptions of the paint? any unique markings on the chasiss or any custom parts or mods done to any of it?
also, contact the hobby shops. let them know that someone might be in trying to pawn off this stuff. and speaking of pawn, same thing goes for those places. check a few out.
like kevin said, get a hold of the tape and look for famaliar vehicles or faces going in through that garage.
I've learned the hard way as recently as last year (which is why i missed the glorcs final) to not leave valuables in the car. You just don't do it, no matter how tired you are or how hard its raining, you just don't do it.
