96 DB will be hard to achieve on a 150 or larger engine and I think its the pulse strength it puts out from the side (physics again) compared to smaller props even though in the air the perception is of a much quieter setup.

The Mezj 28.5 x 12 , 3 - blade is the optimal prop for a DA 150 to meet sound tests.

27 x 10 3-Blade must have put you around 6800 rpm?
