It actually sounds way more cool than it really is. I'm not the first to say that once a hobby becomes a job, the fun is diminished considerably. The other problem is that once you're paid to do this, someone else decides how, when, where, why and how often you fly. The client doesn't care if you're not feeling well or if the wind is blowing at 30 knots or that the temperature is at -20 or colder or that it's raining so hard that it feels like you're swimming; he just wants results. As well, under normal circumstances, you cannot get (or afford) platform insurance. So, unlike when you dumb thumb one of your $500.00, $1000.00 or more dollars models where you feel really crappy about what happened, when you dump a UAV you're often looking at loosing the equivalent of a car or even a house! That kind of pressure is not fun
