Big H: It WILL work very well - as long as you don't try to fill the weave for paint. Otherwise, I suspect (not sure - just a personal opinion) that it would soak up a lot of whatever you use to fill the weave.

You want a lightweight material to do this. I found some cotton/polyester blend "window sheer" material in a local shop. It was the lightest material I could find. And I got a piece about 8' x 10' for $5. Well, $5.75 with GST and PST
