What to save?

Just wondering, out of the kits that are on the market today, what would be worth saving? For me the Pica Waco kit is valuable. I am in the middle of scratch building one right now. I went over to a friends house today and what did he have, a 1/5th Pica Waco YMF kit sitting on his bench, I was jealous. I thought to myself, maybe there is a kit that I should buy and with the help of a miracle, not build it. Being a young modeler, pulling "it" out in 10 or so years would be sweet!

Any ideas, what should I buy?

Whatever you can get your hands on that appeals to you.

Really, whenever I see something that appeals to me, and is not longer available, I buy it and store it for the future. Maybe I'm storing it for future modellers? In any case, I've recently decided that when I build these kits, I will clone them so as not to destroy the original kit so others (or myself) can enjoy it in the future....

How's your Pica coming? I managed to get more paont on mine but realized I need to do some re-work the cabanes... trouble is, I've started another project and have other commitments.

I personally save most of the patriot kits that I come accross I love the way they fly. I have one flying now and two still in boxes to be saved for the future.

I'm thinking some of the Proctor Kits or maybe a Balsa USA.

Waco is coming along. I received my paint the other day, Gord at Klass Kote is a standup guy! I miss-counted my ribs so Peter is going to send me a few more this week to finish the bottom wing, great guy!
I'm going to miss this build, what a great project!

Looks like you're catching up to me.

Proctor. Agreed wholeheartedly except, they're still available and will likely remain so as long as modellers appreciate quality enough to pay for it.... Also, their plans are detailed enough to build from.

I have some really old, highly collectible stuff squirreled away, I should post some pics on my website....

discontinued

I have a Balsa USA 1/3 Flybaby biplane kit for sale. Very collectable as it has been out of production for about 25 years. This kit is really nice and I am only selling because I have two. Bill

Pretty much anything that comes in kit form will be very diffcult to find in the future if current trends continue.......
