HELI pilot considering joining ORCC in Ottawa
Hello friends,
I started my HELI addiction about a year and a half ago. I started with MCX, MSR - then progressed to the Blade SR. After crashing and re-building dozens of times I built a TREX 450 and a 250. Suffice it to say I am fairly addicted to the hobby. I am no expert pilot but I can fly simple patterns safely and I am gaining experience in building helicopters. This spring I have been considering joining the local club here in Ottawa (the ORCC). This hobby has been a solitary endeavour up to this point and I would like to socialize, learn, and fly with fellow hobbyists. I am looking for insight from HELI flyers on what your club experience has been like and what I can expect. - Does one need to pass a flight test before being allowed to fly at the field? - Can helicopters fly any time, or only at specified times? - How many heli pilots are in the Ottawa area? - What are the fun fly events like? Thanks so much for any insights you may have. - Sean

You might want to check on their web site:
http://www.ottawarcclub.ca/ There are icons there for their rules etc. and some contact people that could probably answer most of your questions.
