You're flying SS! Must be an older system?

Re: TF EC-145 600 size

Yes and no. One is a JR PCM10sx in PCM9 SS case modified by Steve Gray 20 years ago setup on the 700 with 2.4ghz module. But I also have a brand new custom made Taranis setup on the 600 and Goblin 700. Taranis is also compatible with JR, Spektrum and OrangeRX modules but looses telemetry then... I fly 2 sticks too but my heart is set on SS lol...

thanks,
Francois

Re: TF EC-145 600 size

Neat. Very rare to see a SS anymore.
The only SS I ever flew was a Heathkit system.

Re: TF EC-145 600 size

Sorry if it's off topic but here's a short on the Taranis.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyeVZ-tAAo4

I like the lady voice, in french here but it supports a large choice of languages that can be selected from your computer in a matter of seconds.
In my case each flight mode is coupled to a .wav file that reports switch position, very handy to keep the eyes focussed on flying, has headphone jack, USB connection and microSD card. Timer starts automatically at 25% throttle, stops at less than 25%. It will play your favorite tune (which could be duration of a flight). Telemetry is built in.
I'm a JR guy and learning how to program a Taranis was (is) a pain. But once you understand it's structure, I think it's worth the suffering lol. It's also about 10 times cheaper than others with the same features. 8 channel receiver is only $30.00, hook up two on sbus and you have 16 channels.

Mine has been configured to fly helis first but it is great for planks, multi-rotors etc...

His name is Steven and very polite, will answer all questions. I don't think he has any left. Price was good and before our $$$ went down the drain ...

Feels quite light but I don't know. I currently have the mecanics installed. I will weight it next time I remove them.

As of today:
I checked out the site. Wow. Some nice scale bodies there. Sure makes your mouth water, eh?

I'm liking this thread too. While I don't have any scale heli projects on the go, I sure love following build threads. They are quite inspirational

Re: TF EC-145 600 size

Project on hold for a few days. I intend to epoxy parts of the plywood former used to secure the belt driven tail rotor originally. Thanks to a post on the 600 Century Airwolf thread by Keyrigger, I was made aware of Hysol epoxies. I ordered the smaller container of 9462. I find this new scale group very useful!
