Well thought i'd order up a new Trex 470 LM seeing the guys are saying there a dang nice little heli. I ordered the kit from Great Hobbies , great service and speedy delivery. I opened the box and am very excited with all the goodies in the box. I will start building it later today , "got my grand daughter " over for a helper today , best wait for nap time to start she is 2 years old.

Re: Trex 470 LM

The 470LM looks like a nice machine, I was looking at buying one but wasn't too impressed with the FBL controller. If you was 6 axis control as advertised you will need to pay (I think it's around $100usd) to upgrade the software to the "pro" version. I think a little HH/spektrum rubbed off on them over the years of partnership and now they think it's ok to stick it to the end user.

Re: Trex 470 LM

Ken I have no idea what you are referring to at all? I bought the 470 LM basic with motor and esc. The super combo comes with a Beast X FBL controller and they work just fine out of the box. You do not have to pay for software at all.

Re: Trex 470 LM

Your Pro version software is V Bar stuff not Beast X , totally wrong.

Re: Trex 470 LM

Seriously? Get your fact together before you embarrass yourself here.... 3 axis control is standard, 6 axis (accelerometer) support is only unlocked by the "pro" upgrade.

Totally right.

Re: Trex 470 LM

Ken, the software upgrade you pay for is for old model Beast X controllers if end users want what is included with the "new version" which includes governor and self leveling aid. You don't buy it on the Beast X Plus in the kits. I have not embarrasted myself.

Great hobbies is a great place to order. I think they raised there free shipping from $100 order to $200. But still one of the best places to order in canada.

Re: Trex 470 LM

Right from the wiki page....

"No, unfortunately all of these features can only be offered for MICROBEAST PLUS/PLUS HD/AR7210BX. At least for the Spektrum AR7200BX/AR7300BX there is a firmware with nitro governor function available."

Old controllers (beastx) were not manufactured with the accelerometers to add the 3 additional "axis" or else you wouldn't need to buy new hardware to upgrade to a new "modern" control system with bailout.

More reading....

Re: Trex 470 LM

Go right to the Align page and read whats included, besides I was starting a thread on a kit with esc and motor no fbl unit, you come in and say what you did to derail my thread, thanks buddy. It had nothing to do with a Beast X it was a kit and you did what you did, therefore why bother to explain to people all about kits etc when you know it all.
