g3 LOCKING UP

I've had my G3 for about a year now and up until recently,it performed well. But after a number of their upgrades,it's begun to lock up on me.Sometimes while loading up,sometimes shortly after takeoff(any plane) and sometimes not at all.I've upgraded the video drives, uninstalled and reinstalled and even had my son who is a programmer and gamer try to fix it.Worked great once then stalled again.
I've tried it on line and off line and same thing.Any suggestions?Getting tired of it and if I cann't figure it out I'll probabaly chuck it.

Perhaps you need the older video drivers. Have you tried lowering the resolution?

'upgrade' only if it isn't working.

You probably have to report back to Realflight all hardware and driver versions, they would most likely know (or at least tell you which are untested).

g3 locking up

Thanks moo.The drivers were updated at Great Planes suggestion and still the same problem.Didn't think about the resolution though but will try that next.Seems odd though that up to the last set of updates, the program worked fine.

You can try tuning down the video accelleration.

sometimes an agressive accelerator can choke on graphics intensive software without hardware level accelleration.

go into your settings ctrl-pnl, display, settings, adv.

you should find something there.
Mine is still a little choppy but this helped.

In the later releases of G3 they have added more crash detection. With mine flying near the ground or near objects or other peole make the computerthink alot more causing my PC to slow down a bit. Might not be your problem but one i had.

Well, finally found the problem. My vid card is starting to fail and the processor is running very close to max heat. Neither is good so off to the shop the computer goes for new parts.
So much for long lasting parts!!!
