Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

The most dissappointing thing in the world is the NON-sound of a twin making a strafing run with electric motors.
I had an old twin engine beater with two OS Max 40's on it and I think I burned 10 gallons of fuel ripping past myself about 3 feet off the ground at full tilt just to listen to the scream from the engines

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

And then there are the louder 2 and four stroke trying to imitate a turbo-prop.....were the sound of an electric with prop noise sounds more like a turbo.

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

I agree, love that smell of glow! I think for Scale flight Turboprop sound its amazing how well electric fits in (unless you go for the full turbine!). Everything else its hard to beat the bark of a 2/4 stroke glow!
Cheers

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

love the simplicity of glow engines but not the mess they make on your model, still better than electric

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

Theres still something about nitro. When it fires up, it sounds alive. There's a feeling of pride when it runs well. How many people have you heard at the field tell you, hey you sure got that electric motor purring. I didn't think so.
