Finally got a trailer

After considering it for years, I finally got a trailer.

Where I live you cannot keep a trailer in front of your house, so I needed something that would fit in the garage.

Nice thing about it is when you get home you do not have to put away your planes. Still need to add more wing storage.

The 42% has 1/2" on each end free

Re: Finally got a trailer

If you think about it the trailer is total 900lbs plus lets go out on a limb and say 100lbs of cargo 1000lbs. that's less than a class one. technically with brakes your allowed 900lbs on a mazda 2, one passenger and half a tank makes up for the other 100lbs.

Just a thought

It all comes down to braking ability. When they rate a car's hauling abilities, they rate it with the assumption that the car is fully loaded with 4 adults. So for example if they say you can only pull 800lbs.. the truth is that you can actually pull about 1400lbs if your alone.

Our former Zone Director (Brad Egan)drove all over Ont with his 5x8 V-nose trailer. He pulled it with a Toyota Yaris LOL

Re: Finally got a trailer

Not only does it depend on the car, it also depends on the driver's ability. You can tow a lot with a small car, as long as you know how to drive with the load and know when and how to start and stop without doing any damage

Re: Finally got a trailer

Now my biggest fear living in Qc, is to find a pile of balsa upon reaching my destination and opening the doors.

Agreed, I don't have a trailer (yet), but even in the van I turn around sometime to see if everything looks ok. Then at the field I often inspect everything trying to find damage from travel. If you have a trailer, you have no idea what is going on inside, so opening up the doors after a hard ride, may be a suprise...
