Gas Securing Connections in a Gas Powered Plane

I'm just finishing up my Top Flite gaint P47 ARF. I've installed 3 separate batteries, 3 switches, electronic ignition cut-off etc so there are lots of connections. This aircraft has a DLA56 gas engine in the equation and therefore the possiblity of connection problems becomes even a greater possibility. What are you using to secure your connections so they do not come apart or break connection?

Thanks,

Gary

Re: Securing Connections in a Gas Powered Plane

I use clips from Aeroworks for the connections that I take apart on a regular basis. For the connections that I never have to take apart I use heat shrink tubing and shrink it on the connections. Those ones can't come apart unless you cut the tubing.

Re: Securing Connections in a Gas Powered Plane

a simple & cheap way is to thread a bit of string through the wires on both sides of the connection and tie the plugs together. small plastics ties work also .a nifty way to hold the ones you take apart all the time is to use a piece of velcro to lock the two together /cut two small pieces one negitive one posiitive 1" long, put small slits long way in the pieces slide them over the plugs and rotate them to the flat sides of the plug ,plug the connection together and join the velcro ,you can also put a small piece of velcro on the plane to secure the connection from flaping around when flying.Roger

Re: Securing Connections in a Gas Powered Plane

Proper clips for the ones I have to play with, tied together with dental floss for the ones I don't. Works for me.

I found these on Hobby Hobby's site - http://hobbyhobby.com/store/search.asp

Here is another style I found at A&J's Hobbies. There are a few different styles around.
Just search the different hobby sources.

I also used heavy black thread or black fishing line to tie the connector together and then a drop of CA seals the knot.
