Hi guys, I have been busy making some of the jigs that were recomended here on R/C Canada, I am almost completed the wing jig, but it calls for two pieces of 1/4 inch hollow aluminum arrow shafts, that are 36 inches long, lightwieght and strong, I have called quite a few places , with no luck at all, does anybody out there have any ideas that could help me locate these items. In the instructions, they mentioned ,that I could use 1/4 inch hardwood dowel, but they warn than it will tend to bow on the bigger spanned wings, so I would like to do it right if I can, hope to hear from you guys, and thank you in advance as allways, I have recieved alot of great information from this site , thanks...... Joey......

Aluminum Arrows can be found at most Sporting Goods Stores specializing in hunting supplies, or a store specializing in Archery supplies. You generally won't find them in CTC or Wallmart type stores, also there is a chain of Metal Supermarket Stores in Ontario that sells specialty metals and regular metals in small quanitys to the general public and machine shops etc. Have fun Brian

There are LOTS of "Metals Supermarket" chain stores in Southern Ontario. They will sell solid 1/4" aluminum rod in any length you need.

Two pcs 36" are worth a few bucks at the most.

Go with the Archery store..... I have used both the aluminum and also the fiberglass arrow shafts. They are straight and cheap.
They also make good push rods guys...........

I've had some success with those collapsible tent supports. Plenty of these to be had after a weekend bash at a campsite.
I'll be combing the fields after BalsaWoodStock.
