ISM 2.4GHz Spectrum Analyzer

I am gathering the parts for a 2.4 Spectrum Analyzer. Is there a place in Toronto that specializes in electronic components.

I am looking for the Cypress CYM6935 Wireless Module.

I could order it on the web but I am in Toronto now and was thinking I could find one here.

Thanks

Re: ISM 2.4GHz Spectrum Analyzer

Forgive me for asking, but are you building this for the sake of building it, or do you want a good quality analyzer for not much more? If its the building ignore the rest. Otherwise,

i have used these on multiple project for wifi, bridging and diagnostics including spec analysis.

check out,
http://www.ubnt.ca/index.php?page=sh...emart&Itemid=1
and
http://www.ubnt.ca/index.php?page=sh...emart&Itemid=1

former comes with omni rp-sma antenna, later has no antenna.

i have a number of these antennas for different jobs and coverages

Pretty good software is included. Check out

I have also written my own software to collect/use the data from these units.

Good Luck

Re: ISM 2.4GHz Spectrum Analyzer

Sorry but I want to hook the CYWM6935 to my Arduino with an SD card and record what kind of noise I am getting in my A/C.

I am going to use the CYWM6935 as the front end.

Thanks

Re: ISM 2.4GHz Spectrum Analyzer

All the major online electronic warehouses have them
Avnet as davidmc suggests
Mouser,Digikey,Newark
Speaking from experience Avnet is the hardest to work with, they like commercial accounts.
Digikey is usually fastest. Mouser is usually cheapest.

Re: ISM 2.4GHz Spectrum Analyzer

Thanks guys!

Actually 'Future Electronics' is the cheapest I think at $19.11 with $8 for shipping.

Can't find one locally so I will order one via the web.

Thanks again.

What I want to do is give the Cypress chip tunnel vision with the chip facing out the side of my A/C. Fly around and see what channels are being used in the area with the results being put on the SD card. Not using the whole Arduino, just the ATMEGA328P chip and a Radio Shack perf board.

Using a RF24 module my own home wifi system covers channels 14 to 20 and go out about 400 ft. There are so many devices on 2.4GHz it is amazing.

Keeps me busy in the winter.... LOL
