I want to change to a lipo receiver battery, 7. something volt, to give me more tork on servos. But i don't like seeing smoke from electronics. lol. Any help out there ?

Re: hitec - optic 6

Optic 6 is not a receiver, so are you referring to Optima 6?? If so then no problem with 2S LIPO, except your servos may let the smoke out.
Either 72Mhz or 2.4 optima receivers can handle LIFE batteries.(nominal 6.6 volts)

Re: hitec - optima 6

Just a note, if you put a silicone diode in series with the battery circuit it will drop the voltage .7V thus brining the voltage into a safe range. I would probably use a five amp diode.
