Radian Pro + DX8 purchase

Jusat bought both the DX8 and the Radian Pro BNF (200$). First test Flight yesterday with telemetry and progressive reflex and crow setup on the Aux 3 Dial. Initial impression is good. Telemetry on RX and main Battery worked like a charm. All the radio/telem components with a little shuffling around in the fuse fit well. The plane seems to fly/ penetrate faster than the Radian. Crow worked well...very fun. The wing is mounted better to the fuse than the old Radian )using mounting bolts vs dovetail fit. And the motor is now metal casing vs the plastic of the old Radian. Motor also has larger cooling holes at the back. I'll shoot some pics of the setup when i get a chance.

The DX8 while not having a "sailplane" setting was able to get all the settings using various mixes...not the most convenient in this way...but passable.

Re: Radian Pro + DX8 purchase

If you go to the Spektrum site they have a setup for sailplanes that you can download for the DX8

Re: Radian Pro + DX8 purchase

Unlike Spectrum's downloadable "pro" setup, i have the reflex and crow mix to the aux 3 knob. It's nice to have the linear control over the crow, but i think it gives too much reflex (guess i could travel limit it...). Also....on the Dx8, the aux3 knob centers with a very low 'click' tone. The tone is very quiet and if there is any wind its basically inaudible (that, or im going deaf). So its hard to know that you are centered once coming back from reflex or crow.

Conclusion: im going to abandone my setup for Spectrum's...since its more definitive.

Flew the Radian today again. Once again the telemetry was flawless and very usefull. Played with full 'crow' in a head on dive...very fun.
