Sean, Damian and myself headed down to race in the Factory tracks MidWest series at Pheasant Run in Holly, Michigan this past weekend to see if we could beat Brian Kinwald, but with 130 entires we just settled for having an awesome time instead Great weather, really friendly people and some wicked competition! The track was just awesome! the best dirt you could ask for and the track was technical with a nice long straightaway, with some big air jumps and some great elevation changes too and a crossover as well! There were some very fast guys there and quite a few factory sponsored drivers and Brian Kinwald was there too! They even had 1/8 electric buggy demonstration..wow! those things are fast!! We all had a great time and we'll be going back there again! (I need some redemption!) and hopefully next year we can bring a bunch of guys and bring on the Canadian invasion! As for the results, Damian was 3rd in the C mod buggy and won the B main in stock. Sean made it to the B main in 2wd, 4wd and truck but had some bad luck in the mains...as for how well I did.....don't ask!!

Pics can be found here http://s180.photobucket.com/albums/x...unn/?start=all

Thanks for posting that, it looks like it was fun.

Couple of questions:

What was the border situation like; lots of delays, and any issues with documentation or what you were bringing down?

What were the technical gremlins that happened to prevent Sean from gettting more laps in?

(Looking to understand what challenges may be faced potential future outings).

awesome pics

Thanks a bunch Ron for the great pics. We had great company on our trip. and the racing was awesome!!!!

coolest thing is that they didn't have a PA system except for the driver's stand. everyone else in the pits had FM radios and they were transmitting on 107.3 so as to not bother the neighbour.

more stories to come!!!

There was a bit of a delay crossing the border, about an hour wait. We all had our passports and the only thing that they really wanted was our beef we had for our sandwiches, I quess they needed something for lunch!

As for Sean's problems..choose a dead battery in 2wd, had a bad bearing in 4wd and lost a brush spring in the truck

The setup the PA system with using the radio was awesome, they did an excellent job of annoucing races and they was no delay in the races at all, one of the best run races I've ever been too

Man, I wanted to go so bad, but it was my sister in laws wedding this weekend and the mere mention of going to a race was met with many an evil look! I couldn't even finish the sentence before my wife said "NO!" HAHAHA. Next year though! Good job out there guys! Way to represent!
