Thumbs up OS91FX Throttle Setup

I have a new OS91FX engine in a .60-.90 Aeroworks Yak. I have done the breakin as per the instructions and have since flown about 10 tanks of fuel through it. I find that the low end of the throttle is very touchy. ie. when I am on final approach if I click the throttle just 1 notch up, the airplane climbs. I would like to have more travel on the low end. How would I setup the linkage so that it will do this. My radio is a DX7 which only allows pitch curves in the Heli mode. Any suggestions would help....

Thanks,

Shaggy

Re: OS91FX Throttle Setup

Exponential in the program deadens the servo travel at low end stick movement....if it is available for channel 3 ? Otherwise you need to connect closer to servo center for the control rod. Let us know if that helps......

Re: OS91FX Throttle Setup

Unfortunately, there is not expo for the channel 3 (throttle). I will try different linkage setups to accomplish my goal....

Thanks for the reply...

Re: OS91FX Throttle Setup

I think Cassat has touched on the easiest way.

I have attached a sketch. Of course, it is a bit exagerated. This gives mechanical exponential.

The servo wheel travels at the same rotational speed anywhere in its range. You can see by the geometry that the amount of movement at low throttle is way less (and less sensitive) than it is at full throttle (very sensitive).

I set this up as close as I can mechanically, then fine tune with the travel limit settings, etc on your radio.

Hope this helps.
