There are a very few companies that make a 4wd truck/buggy. MCD have a truck and a buggy (Eagle II) Both have a flat chassis and would cost around the $2K mark. There is another company that makes a conversion for the FG but the kit is over $1000US and you still have to have a FG to convert it. $1350CAD.

The bottom line is that if it was necessary to have a 4WD gasser they would have made it buy now. The companies that do make it sell it for a fortune.

No matter what you get you still have to have parts availability. This is why FG is the way to go until the HPI comes out. Any parts you need you can get through Advance or go on line to buy. Since the HPI is new and comes out during our winter months no one really know how it will hold up until they try it here.

True but you can get adjustable diffs for them, however they cost over $200US for them alone. If you ad diff lock oil it helps sooo much as well. I have studs on my monster tires and have no problems with traction in hte snow right now. Without them I'd be spinning around for sure.

locally would be Advance hobbies. Ebay is pretty good to but shipping cost a lot since it's a big box with a weigh of 25-30lbs. If you can get one used around here even better but hard to find. You see more on-roads for sale after they race them.

You can also wait until the HPI baja comes out and see how it is. The video doesn't show much in my opinion.
