Re: Motor Cleaner
Sorry, I just noticed this was under electric car and truck section my mistake.
Hi, I'm not sure, but I suspect you want to clean a glow engine. I've attached an old Jan 2006 KWFD (Kitchener Waterloo Flying Dutchmen) newsletter and it explains the crock pot method for cleaning engines. I hope this is what you want and I hope it helps. Fly4Fun, Wayne

Re: Motor Cleaner
Take the nitro motor completely apart removing the needle valve and clean it in paint thinner. I did this two years ago with my own airplane motor. I've also been using Hobbico after run oil after the motor has been used. But I'm also thinking the crockpot method would be good on my 28-32 kyosho helicopter motor. The motor has not been used for seven years but the piston still moves freely. Every so often I give it a good spin with the starter.
I've sat a sheet of cardboard under the bench and then sat the Airwolf helicopter on top. This will help prevent moisture or cold dampness from trying to get up into the motor from the concrete floor during the winter months. Last edited by Muskoka's SuperClodBuster; 02-26-2011 at 09:50 AM. |

Re: Motor Cleaner
Any electrical contact cleaner will do the trick, get it at NAPA. Don't use brake cleaner as it leaves residue.
I'm assuming this is for a brushed motor? |
