People were asking sourcing electric supplies locally, sorry about that guys, I was referring to GTA.

Here's a link to a site dedicated to promote electric flying. I bought couple of out-runners and servos through this site and I was really impressed with the good price, and the fast turn-around from ordering to receiving the goods.

Go to the following link and see for yourself:

I went, I saw.

No contact info or business name or address.
The only indication it's Canadian is the flag.
Slow website.
Seems to have fair prices.

So since there was no contact info, I looked it up.

Why are half of the prices in dollars, and half in pounds?

Odd.

The first time I visited the site, the "Servos" and "Speed Controllers" pages had their prices listed with the £ symbol instead of the $ sign.

Either my computer did something very funky, or someone from matrixolution read my post?

Last time I did that they gouged me for $10 shipping on two small parts that would have gone in a regular envelope...

Most companies won't ship items in envelopes because it's not traceable, envelopes are easily lost, and items are easily damaged in standard post.

The majority of mail-order companies out there ship items through expedited post as a bare minimum (because it's traceable and insured). It's a means of protecting them selves primarily from fraud, but it also offers quicker shipping to customers and package tracking, which is always nice .

That said, $10 is excessive. I ship items through padded envelope packages all the time, and to most locations in Canada via expedited it's only 5 or 6 dollars. Obviously, it varies by item weight, but still.
It's likely Great Hobbies uses table rates to calculate postage (it's probably the only way to do things when you work with such a large catalog and you have so many items that vary in weight and size, so it's understandable).

Table rates sometimes work out great for the customer, sometimes they don't. Usually, it's for smaller items you'll get shafted.
