Yes you can. Does it have a high start hook already on it?

If not, do some research on where to position the hook. It's usually directly under or slightly behind the CG

NO, I strongly suggest placing the hook AHEAD of the CofG....!!!! I can't recall the formula I used, but I think 1/3 of the way ahead of the CG to the nose of the jet should be a good start.

I just used 18' surgical tubing, another 20' of line, and made the pedal bungee found here.

Also made myself a rail system out of 3/4" white PVC. Pull the bungee to 5 times the weight of your EDF...

As well, from my understanding, a Hi-Start is very long and provides a slow gentle pull that is used to launch gliders. You are looking for a bungee with a short quick, powerful launch to get you EDF up to speed quickly! Good luck!

Re: E-flite Hawk

I guess my question is, WHY would you want to high start it? If you're going to put a hook in the fuse you will have to add significant reinforcement to the fuse in that area or you will tear the heck out of the fiberglass. The airplane hand launches fine with the recommended power set up. If you're looking to fly it as a glider I think you're wasting your time unless you slope soar with it. I don't think it's going to be a good platform for high start launches at all.
