Does someone have a copy of 2004/05 Safety code? (pre updated) In particular the field layout. It once read "recommended field layout"

You are right it did read that way, but lets's not take things out of context here.

It also said IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COMPLY you should submit your field layout to the zone director.

The key wording being UNABLE TO COMPLY.

Many clubs ignored this and submitted alternative drawings anyway.

Cheers

Not wanting to start anything here, I just want and need a copy of the mentioned document

Our field is able to conform and did, very happily. Added much needed safety for us.

Unable to comply is very different than, unwilling
