Mugen MBX-6T
OK, so who has one? Post pics!
Got mine from my LHS for a friend on the east coast who got another one some where else! He kinda got stuck with it and couldn't help but feel like it was "mine" from the get go. Everytime I saw it on the shelf at his store it was "pack yer bags, yer goin' on guilt trip"! I bit the bullet and got it from him a good 4 months after the original order. Anywho, I decided to go HV servos and lipo for rx power right off the bat. I had chosen a Picco .28 FT for power but was informed its power in the wrong spot for this truggy. The .28 is a low/mid power house, but the Picco P7R .21 has a better power band in the upper RPM range which is where you want the power. Modded by Clockworks Racing Engines with a Jammin' JP-4 and a M2C 4-shoe clutch, I'm sure it'll deliver! I'll break it in tomorrow on 30% and hope to get some track time in next week in Kamloops. I got some "option" parts never installing the stock ones and/or completing the kit. The rear uprights where ditched for the Mugen aluminum ones, Proline VTRs (1 set Caliber & 1 set Hole Shot), Hitec HV 7940THs, 1500mAh 7.4v blinkied rx pack, Strobe quick change mount, Proline Shift body, DE Racing skids and their funky tank pull and finally the Moo Prostart II box. Wanna race? Last edited by Guest; 01-16-2010 at 01:11 AM. |

Nice truggy and engine combo, I have a guy in Greece running the same combo and he loves it. Are you running a 14 tooth bell, that engine can push it easy, should be able to walk by the speeds and ninja's. Enjoy man, hard not to with a killer set up like that.

Re: Mugen MBX-6T
I know i said I was gonna do this a while ago, but the weather just hasn't co-operated. Conditions outside haven't been ideal to break in a race truggy, but had a chance to today.
WOW!! Clockworks motor is still in the break in process but this is one potent motor. Neal did an awesome job getting it all werkt over. Sounds gnarly at idle with the JP-4 and I can hardly wait to fully open it up! M2C 4-shoe hooks up nicely. The Strobe mount might actually allow the use of a pull-start as I see more clearance down there than with the stock mount. I might get the gumption to try my .28 pull start on there one day. The 7940 throttle/7950 steering on 7.4v lipo is amazing! Snappy throttle and pin to pin in the blink of the eye! So much response its gonna take a bit to get used to! I took a video of the second tank...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoZ709dMHrY Last edited by Guest; 02-08-2010 at 11:16 AM. |
