Well I finally had the chance to test fly the RCV 58 I bought, and mounted in my Pizazz. Hard to believe that I bought this engine in March, it feels like a year ago!

The engine is still very new and breaking in so I had to set the idle speed slightly high as to not let it quit. Normal with a ringed engine before its broken in. The 58 pulls the 5 1/4 pound Pizazz around very nicely. Yes, I have lost the balistic vertical performance of the Saito 80 (expected in a 25% drop in displacement) but it takes off fast and flies well, not at all underpowered.

I had two deadsticks, both times while attempting a violent manouver (snap once, tight loop with a snap the 2nd) and I believe, like my OS 91 surpass, this engine will need a pump for reliable fuel delivery in this particular set up. I will try a Cline PFCS I have on hand, usually cures any fuel delivery issue. Not really a fault of the engine, 4 strokes in general have not as good fuel delivery when relying upon suction.

It looks like a good match for this airframe anyhow, and I am looking forward to flying it a lot more this summer!
