This is a House of Balsa kit. I have a couple of Balsa USA kits waiting their turn, but haven't touched them yet.

This was a very easy build, actually. The thing is a tank though! The fuse is thick slabs of Balsa, doubled or reinforced with ply in places. Crazy! I ended up cutting a number of large lightening holes in the fuselage, and some smaller ones in the tail feathers.

The one thing I'm kicking myself for: no removable cowl. If I ever need to access the motor, I'll have to use a razor saw...

Good luck with the maiden Kevin. Hopefully the cowl will never have to come off. Can you get at everything else if you need to?

Thanks! Yeah, I did have the presence of mind to make a hatch so I don't have to remove the wing to swap batteries.

The cellphone camera hides all the warts, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I have one of those Denight Specials. Don't know if you have flown yours, but I find mine to be one of the nicest planes I have to fly (and I have about 20). Big and beautiful, with a real presence in the air. It flies like it's on rails. Love the plane.
