A few years ago I was shot down by a guy turning on a TX without checking the board. He freely admitted his guilt, appologized but simply didn't have the money to replace my airplane. He did however have a home owners insurance policy with liability insurance and they paid material and reasonable labour. Is this still not an option?

Of course it is ... whatever means necessar would be my approach, I'm just not so big on making yet another rule.
