Hi,

I am planning on purchasing the H9 Pulse 125 ARF as my second plane (first being the Avistar 40 size) and was wondering if it is a good idea to use a 26cc Gas engine? I came across a couple threads on this forum regarding the XY 26cc A-Spec V2 and was wondering if this will be sufficient enough for this plane.

I also read about "you get what you pay for" but I'm no where near doing 3D type maneuvers and if it does the job of powering the plane with no issues and being able to do basic to intermediate (for the future not now) maneuvers then it will be worth it. For cost this engine seems good but I just need to know if it will meet or exceed or fail the requirements for this plane.

Other suggestions for engine setups are also welcome. I'm in it to learn as much as I can.

as far as i know 26cc is alot i have a giles 202 with a 160 in it and it calles for as your plane does to 120 now that is over powered to begine with, i have the exact same thing running through my head a 26cc gaser??? well thats a good question cheaper on gas 1, and its more power full so if i were you i would go gas better for the budget.and if you plane calles for a 120 26cc i would say is perfect if not awsome for a plane like that. but i am only 14 so this is all of what i herd and read up on...it pays to know this stuff, if i were you get the gasser never herd of the brand just read about it. if it sounds goodd ill take 2

26cc should be fine, H9 specs Pulse 125 weight at 9 lbs or so. I just put a CRRC 26 into a Goldberg Jungman, weighs 10.5 lbs all up and its fine. I am using a Hobbico 180 starter ( the HD one) and a big battery, starts instantly.

Look up Paragon RC for the engine.

I asked the same question of a lot of people and at least half of them recommended the DLE 20. Mine went in last night. I didn't use the stock engine mount because there have been reports of them breaking. This Hangar 9 mount - HAN2033 - was $11.99 at my LHS.





The cowl trimming went well - I'm pleased with the results.

Ive had 2 pulses in my days, and let me tell you, hang on to your shorts! They rip thruough the air like no other. One problem I had was the covering seams came apart on the wing during flight, I landed it safely with half the wing exposed! Ca ALL of your mono seams with a q-tip, and have fun!
