Thanks guys, all valid points.
Obviously I wouldn't attempt to pack Trevors' Skymaster F-14 in my little Mazda 3, or my SUV for that matter. I can't afford to damage something that costs more than my car! Nice idea with the Volunteer forum, could work both ways for volunteers and people needing items moved. You always take a chance something is going to get damaged when you ship it. I personally would rather utilize someone who is part of a forum and has a name I can hold accountable, rather than a nameless courier driver who doesn't give 2  ** about his cargo. Granted, insurance may or may not cover the items if, God forbid, something did happen. At least utilizing a fellow modeller, you can be sure (hopefully) he would treat it like the delicate item it is.

I concur. I do travel a fair bit with the military, and have come across great opportunities to shuttle an aircraft, especially ones partially built or whole, that just could not go by any other means.

I do the 1 hour Coronation/Provost run daily guys... as if! On a serious note though, I will be going to Saskatoon with a cargo trailer tomorrow.
