The second set of Durant boxes are epoxied in. The servo wire channel was made in the foam core between the boxes, and the 1/8 slot I cut in the trailing edge to make the channel is now closed and epoxied

Tomorrow I will make the clearance holes in the ailerons, cut and shape the aileron horns. Then I hope to epoxy the horns in place.

Keep at 'er! I've got my boxes in, extensions in place and I just have to epoxy in one of the horns. Then I've got to switch out the tail servos and we're off to the races!

I hope it works out. I haven't flown anything in a couple weeks and I really want to get out!

Re: Hitec 7950 servo testing, evaluation and experiences

My boxes are complete and I'm working on getting the servos swapped over. I lucked out majorly on the tail servos! As it turns out, I had built in enough elevator throw that I didn't have pull the pins on the hinges or take my hinge-gap covering off. I was able to slide the servos right out with the elevator fully deflected!

Something actually worked out easier for me for once! Programming begins!

Holly Crap that's some throws you have there.

I don't go much of 8 degrees either way on my birds. NO 3D for DAly!

I haven't actually tried it with full deflection yet. It'd be like throwing on the air brakes! It flies really nice 3D on about 2/3rds of the available throw. That being said, I've only got around 10 flights on it so far. Once I get more comfortable I'll try a flight with full deflection!

Re: Hitec 7950 servo testing, evaluation and experiences

Crap!!! Now I'm into another issue. I can't get my 9110 to bind to my DX7. It was fine when I flew it in the freestyle at the last contest and now I've got nothing! GRRRRRRR!

I'm trying one last thing and that will be to do the bind on a 4.8v Rx pack and see if that works. If it doesn't do it I have no idea what the issue is.

Move your transmitter to the other side of the room when you are binding.
If they are to close together, they often won't bind.

Remove the switch. insert bind plug and connect battery (batteries). That should put it in the bind mode.

Re: Hitec 7950 servo testing, evaluation and experiences

I've tried all those already. The satellites go into bind mode (quick flashing) and then I press and hold my bind button while turning it on and the lights quickly go out. I keep holding it and the "A" satellite then blinks quickly 5 times and then nothing. No lights, no battery indicator light, nothing.

I've got a call into Horizon to see if they can tell me what the 5 blinks mean. I tried my transmitter with my AR7000 on my Slick and it picked up the bind right away. No issues at all.

I've also tried rebinding the AR9110 on different models in the radio with the same result.

I'm getting super tired of these problems!
