Hobbyking Experience
I am new to the hobby and ordered a few Lipos from the US Hobbyking warehouse. My order was placed February 5th and all items were instock. Theys still haven't shipped. I have had two conversations with online "help" and all they do is say they will encourage the warehouse to ship the items. It is very frustrating.
Has anyone else had similar experience. Any advice? I would much prefer to get things from my LHS but some of HK pricing is just too good. |

Re: Hobbyking Experience
Sorry, no advice, but thanks for letting us know that the US warehouse can be slow too. Currently my HK shipment out of their main warehouse has been not been filled in the last 8 days due to the back log created by the Chinese New Year break.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
Kind of hit and miss with HK I have had orders show in 3 days ,and waited weeks for others ,but for the price savings I am not much bothered , If you have to have something in a hurry ,go local. I don't mind waiting for a 50% or better savings.but you should know when ordering from HK it could be a long wait.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
I think I read somewhere that Canadians could not order from the US warehouse, don't know the reason for this.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
well to offer those prices they have to cut corners somewhere.I here there return policy is useless also.but to be honest I have had no problems with there products .I am as impatient as the next guy but have learned that impatient's costs .go browse the local that should make you feel better about the wait LOL.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
Its not so much the wait as the lack of customer service. Most of the smaller online retailers are very accomodating. HK is the fist that has been a complete joke when it comes to customer service.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
HK's volumes are soo crazy that it can take awhile. I have heard that the lipo batteries now have to be shipped in a special container due to the fact that they are essentially combustable. If this is true then that fact alone could limit how many they can ship at one time.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
As far as I understand what I heard. The shipping route for Lipo batteries is not the same as for dry goods. Apart from the Chinese New Year Jan 23rd this year and 2 weeks
off. The Lipos are ship from Singapore routed thru Europe (Switzerland I think) then to N. America. 6 to 8 weeks. When ordering do not mix your order. Order dry stuff on one day and your Lipos the next day.

Re: Hobbyking Experience
Hobbypartz isn't know for their CS either. But at least they seem to fill orders in a decent amount of time, usually within 2 days. Their warehouse in California and it's about 2 weeks shipping time... and that includes clearing Canada Customs.
Personally, I still like to deal with some of the smaller retailers like AlleRC and Subsonic Planes. But I haven't found anyone that can beat Hobbypartz for their prices, they are also the only N.A. retailer of Gen Ace Lipos. |
