scales
Hey guys, what are you using for weighing your equipment and models with. Is there one that works better than another. I've seen some at Staples, but they look more for postage, I've been told that the kind fishermen use to weigh their catch will work. I've also seen on TV shows the kind drug dealers use to measure out their drugs. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I bought one from Staples. It's a parcel scale, weighs from 0 to 20 kg in 100 g. Works just fine for my planes. Cost was $54.75. I have a fisherman scale too, just has a hook on the end, I use it for the smaller stuff.

The fish scale is a tubular mechanical style. I used it at work to weigh nitrogen bottles against their stamped fill weight on fire suppression systems. They are very accurate. What are you weighing? : Frank http://www.nicetoys.com/cgi-bin/shop...on&key=accut-4

Kevin,
I borrow my friends digital fish scale to weigh my planes sometimes. I wonder how accurate they are, the guy who owns it says it weighs heavy. Maybe thats the setting so the fisherman think the fish are bigger than they really are! Frank, that postal scale is exactly what I am looking for... (other than I still like pounds/ounces but I can convert) how bought you buy me one and I will grab it off you in Whitby? Um, I mean Rachel needs a good scale and you have to buy it for her since she is your daughter... Nice try Coholic!!!! Andrew

I originally looked for a scale that I could weigh a finshed airplane on, and needed something with about a 50 pound limit I go the Pelouze 4010CN with a 60KG limit
I also wanted a scale I could weigh lighter things (like balsa sheets, ply formers, foam blocks <before and after skinning so I could see how much the adhesive weighs> , mufflers, pipes etc) and get good accurate readings in smaller increments (10ths of an ounce or in grams). The big scale wouldn't do this I took the big scale back and got the Pelouze 5055 from Business Depot (Staples) http://www.staples.ca/products/catal...erCategoryId=1 The only disadvantage with this scale is that it's limit is 5 pounds (2200 grams). I guess it depends on what you really want to use the scale for
