So with any problem solving technique, it is important that the obvious problems be addressed first to eliminate them as probable root cause- in the case the faulty switch. Either way you slice it, that switch is a BAAAD thing and has to be fixed first. |

Re: help please
I went back and re-read things and he says the trainer switch. Sorry, my mistake - I wrote trainer switch, but I somehow had the bind switch functionality in my mind.
Pretty each to bump the trainer switch. That could turn off the transmitter portion of the radio and cause failsafe - if the TX were slaved to a master TX. Does a DX7 lose bind if you hold the trainer switch on while cycling power? Logically it doesn't seem like it should. I'm not at home so I can't try myself at the moment. Also, if you aren't connected to another TX, does hitting the trainer switch do anything at all? Last edited by martinic; 03-11-2010 at 11:30 AM. He doesn't mention the radio if its a DX6i or a DX7. He does mention the bind problem and the trainer switch, so I am assuming it is a DX6i, which initiates the bind mode when you hold the trainer switch in the "ON" position and switch on. |

Re: help please
Couple of little things. To set the failsafe properly, you have to put the throttle trim all the way to the bottom, otherwise it will failsafe to a fast idle speed when it loses signal.
Another point, I had a small heli with the Static problem. Luckily I was hovering only a few ft. off the ground. The radio in the heli went into failsafe and shut off completely. About a minute later it came back on again. After some testing, it pointed to the static problem., I sprayed the belt with good old WD 40 as one of the remedies and it never did it since.
