Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7
Steve we have The Z62 with the Schlundt reduction. It is a shoe horn job getting it in, and there will be much less of a dummy engine than hoped, but the benefits (I am told) will be worth it.

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7
Should be a sweet setup Nigel especially if your running the cannister muffler that goes with that,I'm just using the stock Z-62 muffler.Should be getting back at mine soon....

Hi Steve
Just to let you know that I follow your build thread and what an impressive build you are doing! It looks challenging. Nice pictures and keep up the good coverage. Thanks.

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7
Steve are you hibernating still
Well I am about to start on the wings now. Beginning with the lower wings I think. I plan on using tubes so the wings can split. The fuselage is as far as I want to go now before the wings need fitting. I have added all the detail myself rather than using commercially available parts. 3D printing has been used extensively to make the parts. You can see how the flywheel is embedded into the radiator. The GTM supplied foil structure for the radiator fell apart when I started cutting it to try and make everything fit, but I did expect that to happen! The replacement part fits well with a 5mm gap around the flywheel. It's about time we see some pictures from your model progressing me thinks |

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7
Back at the D7 finally .working on the control column/rudder pedals etc ,it could be made functional but I'm just going with the included dummy cables.

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7
YAY he's back at it
A trick I used Steve was to use silver elastic for the dummy cables. It holds a bit of tension and looks rather well. |
