I went out and bought some endust after reading that post. Little hard to find, was at a "better" grocery store in town.

My comments are that it is fast, easy, smear free. Have never used anything better and I have tried a lot of stuff over the years. People will wonder what you are using!

Thanks for the tip.

I learned about endust years ago from my father. It puts a lovely finish on wrinkled and textured paint (he used to repair accounting machines and typewriters). I found it works well for computer cases too.

I'm pretty sure Monokote can't actually be "polished." All Monokote is is a clear mylar with the colour and adhesive on the underside. You can't "polish" the colour cause it's underneath. I can understand why Endust would work, it is a product that fills small scratches in clear coat such as polyurethane or similar finishes on furniture. What you are really doing is cleaning and filling the tiny scratches all our models end up with and restoring the clear over the colour. I think I would give the finish a really good cleaning first with washer fluid or TSP first, in an attempt to try to get all the dirt out from the little scratches that can be later filled with the Endust. I'm gonna give it a go and see if it can help some of my more tired Monokote finishes. Thanks for the tip.

Would love to see your Ultimate pics, but on to the important stuff - was your hunting successful?

Congrats Micman I too recently returned from deer hunting, but alas I was unsuccessful - saw many doe, but I only had a buck tag. In our party of four, one chap harvested a spike and another an atypical 7 by 8 - nice strong healthy deer. Oh well, only another 49 weeks before the season again opens.

Your Ultimate colour scheme sounds like a winner. I have a Goldberg Ultimate kit in the attic that's been gathering dust for many years. Your thread may just be the impetus I need to haul it down and start building

Cheers,

Peter

uktimate hunting

Peter it is nice to hear not only are you an rc guy but you like to hunt, to bad you didn't get nothing but for me that is a typical hunt. I am very lucky when I get something, I take alot of pics when I am hunting and the guys always chirp me that I am not there for the hunting. (got to know the joke) Here is a pic from our moose hunt in september, didn't get nothing but took this pic after a grizz ran off the road in front of me. I jumped off my quad got a quick pic and road on quickly.

A rather large lad! They don't quite build black bears that big in Ontario - at least none that I've come across, which I'm thinking is perhaps not a bad thing
