Yes, that is a general method of setting up the tail. When you set your gyro so it is changed by the Mode switch, you will set up each mode with its own numbers. In many cases, there will be slight changes depending on the rpm for each mode you have. I generally have two rpm settings and therefore can have s slightly different gain for each. It might only amount to half a percent but I tend to increase by default if I have a faster rpm setting but will keep it the same if I only change the sensitivity of the cyclic servos. Hope this helps.

Re: Align Trez 250se

Don,
Yes I'm the guy at the dome back on boxing day picking your brain. Thank you all for your help. With all your assistance and patients with me i think I've got it pretty close, at least close enough to fly an d then maybe some tweaking of the programming. Once the programming got worked out the tail rotor became the bigger PITA.. Swapped out the HK gyro for a spare e-sky gyro and everything kinda fell into place. I had to turn the gain up to 90% to keep the tail from bouncing round and seemingly wanting to overcompensate but at 90% it seems to be locked in with good control and no tail wag or overcompensation. being almost 30% higher than any other of my heli's at 90% seems to be odd but if that the number then that's the number. I did pick up a Futaba 401 tonight and plan on swapping out the E-sky gyro. Maybe I can turn the gain down a bit but we will see. I've learned allot in this build and that was the point of this excersize. A times it was just abit more frustrating at times than I would have liked. Max... thanks for offering to take a look at it for me. I really appreciate the offer. I hope to get out to fly some heli's with you this summer and watch some of your clubs FPV racing. Once I get tis bird in the air and flying I will report back my success's. I swore that this was my last heli build for now but for some reason i think I may have a need to find a TREX 500 that has been orphaned needing some love. lol...
Thanks again to all...

Dave

Re: Align Trez 250se

I should update on my progress. Well after 2 years of picking it up fooling around and ending in extreme frustration only to out it back on the shelf for a few more months. This past Saturday I had a full day to either figure it out or shelf it once and for all. First off I realized my gyro was reversed. Straightened that out so 1 head ache down. Keyrigger was kind enough to send me his file for his trex 250se and between that reading a truckload I realized my main issue was lack of head speed. What I thought was a highly enough head speed was not nearly enough and causing major tail wag. Increased my head speed and all tail wag disappeared. Took a full battery to the park with no one else around and immediate it hovered. After some trimming and hovering around I called it quits for the day while
I was ahead and one happy kid. Next is to wait for warmer weather and the flying to field to let this thing go and final trimming. Can't wait. Big thanks to Keyrigger and the rest of you guys with your help..... I swore I wouldn't get or need another Heli but some how I'm seeing a trex 500/550 in the future.....
