Saito 300 TTDP twin vs OS-300 twin

Hi guys just wondering if anyone is running a Saito 300-TTDP? just looking for some user feed back on the Saito if possible...

I was considering using the OS-300 for an upcoming project but from what info I have read so far on the Saito 300 TTDP it seems to be the more powerful of the two engines by .9 hp at same RPM and maybe also a little better suited to what Iam looking for ie scale aerobatic performance.....The Saito 300 TTDP adavantages? or noticable perfomance enhancments over the OS 300 design seem to be the Saitos duel carbs and twin plugs per cylinder, this should increase reliability I would think during low/high rpm aerobatics... also I thought maybe running 1ea. hot/cold plug combo on each cylinder would likely be an adavantage???? The OS only runs a single carb and 1 plug per cyl.

The engine will be going into a 1/3 scale Pitts by the way

Oh yeah anyone heard the rumor that Saito will be releasing a 360 flat twin four stroke soon?????

Cheers-

Marty, I have a saito 270 twin TTDP dual carb version I bought off Raymac in my GP Christen Eagle, I had fired it up with the 20 X 8 prop, lots of power, great scale sound, not as much power as the G4500 in my other GP Christen Eagle, I ran 22 X 10 on this one, plenty of power to do loops and rolls. Raymac (Ray MacDougall) has the saito 300 TTDP version on his Ohio Ultimate and he's running CH ignition system. Sounds like he's just the one you would like to contact. Are you getting back into prop planes now.? I would think the GP Pitts would fly just as good as the GP Christen Eagle.

Cheers,
Naomi
