Just wondering what type of fueling accesories to use with kerosene. I assume it's the gasoline type of fuel pumps, tubing etc. Do the glow type of pumps work? Also do any of you guys use jet A rather than kerosene?

O.K. I'll bite..... I use Tygon ( yellow in color available through Dubro, Prather etc ) pretty much exclusively throughout my fuel system except from the header tank ( or UAT ) to the pump. There I use a polyethyelene line. Polyethylene is used from the pump to the engine. DO NOT USE silicon - it will expand and eventually deteriorate with the addition of the synthetic turbine oil. A word of caution.... some manufactures have recently been supplying a very thin walled almost latex type of tubing for use in their fuel tanks. I found that this fuel tubine does expand and will in fact fold back on itself and get caught in corners of the the tank. I threw mine out and use the thicker walled tygon. Oh ....I also use the larger diameter tygon ( 5/32 ) not the 1/8 so as to prevent any chance of negative pressure occuring in the tanks while the engine quickly uses up the go juice. More important perhaps with the larger engine ( 15- 18 oz / minute ). On the smaller engines it may not be as critical ( generally consume 5 - 7 oz per minute )

Trevor...as for JetA or kero:....I have used both but the kerosene is a lot cleaner odor-wise. I've gone back to kerosene for that reason alone in spite of the Jet A being a lot cheaper at the local ag spray operator (1/2 the price!!).

As for the fuel lines, I mostly use the large Tygon like Dean does.

Fuel lines

I have been using polyurethane pneumatic line with great success throughout my planes. I run kero only so far.
