Tom, Skycraft Hobbies in Burlington also has them in stock, at similar pricing.

The conversion prices are not all that much different Randy.

If one person purchased a DA50 with the exchange rate at 0.77 and another made the purchase at 0.79, the difference is only about $16.

And another thing to keep in mind.....If the hobby store purchased 10 engines at the old exchange rate, they are not going to reduce the price until those engines are sold off. The hobby store will only apply the new exchange rate on products purchased at that rate.

I would think the only way to take immediate advantage of any change in the exchange rate is to buy from the US market but then any savings would be gobbled up by shipping, customs and taxes due upon receipt!

So the moral of the story is: Buy from and support your local hobby store, or at least a Canadian company like Great Hobbies, which will probably be the better savings in the long run!

There is no duty on a US produced engine. Freight is generally free in the US these days for a US ship to such as we have in Sault Ste Marie.
That leaves the taxes which can be waived if you hit the customs person on a good day ,or they are having one of their "bargaining" days with their employer.Otherwise its + PST+GST as it would be in your LHS.
Out of province mail order suppliers like Great Hobbies or Triad means plus freight and GST but no Pst.........
Buying direct from DA works out to $US 549 x1.30=$Can 713.70 plus taxes.I am not aware of any other US distributor low balling the list price but there may be one somewhere.

Kevin,

Not everyone has the advantage of living as close to a border that they can setup a US Post Office Box!

I wish but alas not.

For the rest of us we have to take this into consideration when ordering from US.
