MK Hexa
I just had the maiden flight of my MK hexa. The frame/camera mount is from RC-Carbon, MK 2.1 FC, TimeCops I2C converter, 30a esc's, RC-Timer 750kv motors, APC 1047 props. The MK FC has default settings. The flight was with a 3s flight bat. I'm planning on a 4s setup but I am waiting for some info before proceeding.

Re: MK Hexa
Ah! So that is what 2 Tricopters bolted together look like!
Looks good Brian and very interested to see how you compare it with your quad and other flying machines. Chris

Re: MK Hexa
Looks Great!
I've started on the design of my frame, here's the basic plan. I'm using multiwiicopter with this 4.o Paris plug-n-play board. http://www.multiwiicopter.com/collec...lc-plug-n-play here's the sketch up Cheers Jerry

Re: MK Hexa
I've made some headway on upgrading my hexa to a heavy lift hexa. It was a 650mm hexa but is now an 850mm. I installed six Axi 2814/22 motors, which are dynamically balanced. I am waiting for 3 Xoar 13x6.5 matched pairs of props. They have the same pitch for each CW and CCW prop and perfectly balanced. They will also all be within 0.3g's of each other. They are lighter then APC's and much stiffer for a heavy hexa. I'm hoping for the lowest vibes as possible. I'm looking a 3kg's+ for RTF weight.

Re: MK Hexa
My hexa is finished. Just waiting for my props to arrive, hopefuly by Friday for an indoor test flight. I may have to put a seperate bec for the camera tilt and roll servos. The FC only puts out 1a. The servos are digital and may draw more then 1a. Bats are two 4s 4000mah's.

Re: MK Hexa
Here is a video of my hexa test flight with the new Axis and Xoar props. I need to turn down the gros as I'm getting a small oscillation in a hover. I was drawing 36a at 570watts in a hover. 3kgs flying weight.

Nice! What a beast... Over half a kilowatt! Looking forward to seeing more when you get out in the real world with it. It looks so stable and I must say I could not see the oscillation in the vid. Nice recovery on the second landing.. I guess the heart rate was up a bit they eh? Cheers Chris

Brian Nice looking mount.. The demo vids on their site are amazing. I look forward to seeing yours as the scenery up where you live is so superb. I have done quite a bit of tri flying lately, but almost no video. This thing called work has kept me hoping. Still poor excuse! My current pliant is a homebrew quad... Although with some of the cheap frames available it is almost not worth it trying to figure out a design and build! Cheers and pse keep the posts coming! Chris

Re: MK Hexa
My new camera mount is on the way. I'm also going to reflash 6 RCTimer 30a esc's with custom FW. This will greatly improve the response from my MK FC. This can be done for other multi-rotors to improve stability. Here is the thread on how to do it.
