We all know about the anthropic principle, there are perhaps an infinite number of universes out there. So, first guy entered a temporal rift in the space time continuum and was duplicated by his counterpart in a parallel universe but a few years out of phase with the original. It was also a universe where everyone wears funny hats with the letters F, U, T, A, B, and A printed on it.
Lucky he got pulled from that one. In another universe we may all look like Hello Kitty.
