What charger do I need?
I am looking for a good quality battery charger. I have been using just the original wall trickle charger with my nitro stuff for years. But I am tired of the clean up evolved with nitro. So I am moving to the electric side of the hobby. I have a Hobbico Quick II DC charger now that I have never used. I guess it will charge up to a 3 cell li-on/poly pack plus my NiMH. I have no idea when it comes to batteries. Will this charger suit my needs or should I buy a triton or similar product? I plan on using it to charge electric heli and park flyer batteries.
As well with these DC chargers does everyone hook them up to a 12 volt car battery with an ac charger linked to that at home or something? Thanks

Re: What charger do I need?
Hi
If you want to charge all types of batteries I would recommend something like the Thunder Power 1010 C. The only drawback to it is that you must also buy the external balancer if you want to use lipo/lithium Ion and A123 cells. The software for this charger is upgradable. It will charge up to 10 lipo or A123 cells at once. It also charges all the other regular styles of batteries such as Nicad, NMH and pb. There are other chargers out there that do the same job and they have built in balancers but may not do 10 cell packs. I own 4 Triton chargers but the last two I bought both had bad fans in them. I recommend that you DO NOT BUY a Triton 2 charger. The Triton 2 charger software is not upgradable. I use an FMA Cellpro 10s for my A123 cells. I can upgrade the software free on the internet. Also has a built in balancer. THESE CHARGERS DO NEED A POWER SUPPLY. I use a 20 amp 13.8 volt power supply at home and the car battery at the field.
