Andrew, that kid looks too happy. If you want to bring them back to earth, remind them school starts in less than one month

Seriously though, it looks like the kids and the teacher are having some serious fun.

Fun, hard work, frustration, more fun... its an endless cycle

I understand 6 hours a day for some 7, 8 and 9 year olds can be tough. Today was raining so we spent all day indoors building and it was a bit much for some of them.

I have some of the youngest kids this year that I ever had. Its hard, to digest as much stuff as I throw at them in such a short time - that I know. But I like to make it challanging, then they really do get more out of it I think and so do I

It looks like I may have another RC student or maybe two from this class, and that would be awesome. As the kids get a little older and more experienced I would like to get a few more of them into the hobby of RC flying, and join our local club. Thats my long term goal!

Pretty grey for someone as young as you Andrew? heh heh.

Great job AC, those kids are going to benefit because of all your efforts to pass along on the hobby. Kudos to you.

Andrew, I look forward to meeting you some day. I can't put into words or possibly say enough to reflect what I think you're doing for those kids. You're doing yourself, the hobby and most importantly all the kids, a tremendous service. Thanks a million!!

Thanks but in all fairness its fun for me too (most of the time ) and I am not doing anything I dont enjoy...

It looks like I have one definite RC junky in the making... and hopefull get one more from the class this year. Two new students/members that are really set on learning to fly would be awesome!

I find its the ones that are about 14 or 15, or 16 that are old enough to decide they want to pursue the hobby, start flying RC and join the club, MAAC, etc. Also at that age they usuallyhave a part time job and have some money to spend.

Well, the week is over, and today we actually got to go out for a bit and fly some of the creations.

I particularly am fond of a few of the guys that have been with me for a while now. This young man, Tylor, is a real good kid and I hope someday to get him more into the hobby as he shows a genuine interest.

Some of the kids show a passing interest in models. Some think its really neat but too much work. Others never seem to build up the necessary skills to get better. But then there are a few that just make my day... and that makes it all worth the effort. To help these real go-getters is a big part of the hobby for me. This class is just the beginning, just a place to show them whats out there besides the video games and sports, etc.

I really believe that I have 2 or even three budding young RC enthusiasts in the making. Thats just too cool for me to put into words!

Here are two shots of Tylor, one getting his Sig Cub ready to launch, and the other just after a R.O.G. release.

Man, that pic of his face on takeoff shows that he will really get into this hobby.
