That does not sound too bad then Alain. Wing tube sleeve may be a challenge if you have to dig the one in the wing out?

Re: Canadair CL-415 build

This is probably way late in the game to add a post to this thread but the CL-415 ARF in the picture looks like the one I have (still NIB) from Fly Model. The model number of the kit is "XY-226".

Re: Canadair CL-415 build

Yes it looks to be the same but a slightly different version as mine didn't come with landing gears.

Hi artchristic2,

I was contemplating selling it but you don't see too many of these kits around so I am still on the fence. I need to take stock of the projects that I have queued up and make a decision which ones I will realistically get to in the near future.

Although I have had an RC Canada profile for a couple of years, I have just started really using it. When I have 25 posts under my belt, I will be adding a few FS threads and you may see the CL-415 among them.

Hi Alain,

Mine did not come with landing gear either. I bought it a couple of years ago so it is probably the predecessor to the "NEW" version that was in the link.

Have you flown yours again since it flipped after landing?

A buddy of mine bought this model at the same time as I did but got right on the build project. He keeps and flies it at his cottage in northern Ontario and just loves it. His only complaint is that it's a handful to fly inverted for any length of time (he's not too concerned about scale flight...)

Unfortunately, a family of mice thought that big fiberglass fuse would make a great winter home and he had to replace some of the wiring in the Spring.

Re: Canadair CL-415 build

I haven't flown it and will probably not before next year as I have to make new fiberglass parts for it and maybe replace the speed controllers... I had no time to work on it lately, it's now a winter project that will happen once the Citabria is completed.

Re: Canadair CL-415 build

Time to bring back this thread to life...

The CL-415 has been gathering dust for 7 years now and has survived to 3 moves including one halfway across the country. Time to fix it. One of the sleeves for the wing tube was made of cardboard and needed to be replaced.

I made a new one with fiberglass and installed it.
