Getting Tuned up for Sprucewood

Hey racers,

Things are rockin' and rollin' for Sprucewood. We have a lot of great sponsors on board to help with the event. I'm really excited for this event, and I hope you are as well.

Just a couple things to remember for this event.

1. The track will be closed to everyone from Aug 23-26. No one will be permitted on the track from the Monday-Thursday before the Sprucewood race. This means that no one will have additional practice time. Practice will open for registered racers on Friday morning at 8AM.

2. Camping is permitted. Trailers, tents, pop-up's, sleeping sitting up in chairs...it's all permitted. There is lots of space, but I recommend you come early for the key spaces. Campers can show up as early as Thursday Evening.

3. There are NO power hook-up's for campers or trailers. Power is ONLY for racing purposes. Please do not test this rule. I don't like to be the bad guy by pulling this privilege. Please honour this. Please.

4. Friendly pets are permitted as long as they are leashed. I want to stress that they need to be friendly. We are not looking for anyone to get hurt at this event. R/C races can get hectic, and dogs can get riled up. Please ensure your dogs are well behaved, and you clean up after them.

5. You have access to the beach, but this is a use at your own risk situation. We do not provide and life guards or supervision at the beach, so I ask that your children are supervised and you be responsible.

6. This event is for a great Charity. Please take part in any 50/50 draws that take place on the weekend. All proceeds are going to the guide dog association of Ontario. It's all for a good cause.

7. Be safe and have fun. Above all else, let's have a stress free weekend with a lot of amazing races. Let's all be on point with our marshalling duties, and keep a cool head all weekend. We have an amazing R/C community. Let's show the world how it's done.

Any chance you could go throw someone in a headlock at the hotel and demand reduced rates for this event Joe? I'd like to book a room, but want to wait in case you can talk/scare them into helping us out that weekend for the event.

I won the last 50/50 you had at the RCPS race, so count me in for a shot at a repeat performance!

Hey Kevin,

When the other postings. The hotel has already committed to offering a $99.95 per night rate for this event, but they set a deadline to book a month in advance. That would be...TODAY!!!

Man this is going to be great, I am very much looking forward to coming down and meeting all of you guy's. I am coming down from Montreal with my friend Dave, we will be running in the Buggy class as a pair of rookies since we just got our MBX6's running for the first time last week. Very exciting stuff and from what I am seeing here I am sure we are going to have a great time.
