Hey Guys,

I've been looking unsuccessfully for awhile now for full kits on some flying boats specifically the CL-215/415 and Grumman Goose. Well the best I could do was locate a couple of short kits. Trouble is because of my inexperience with buying "wood" for a kit I have no clue as to what the extra wood would cost.

Just wondering if the more experienced on here could do me a favour by giving me a "rough guestimate" as to the following two lists might cost me retail?

4 sticks of spruce or bass 3mm square, strip wood
1 sheet of 6mm med/soft (mostly for LE),
"some" hard 6mm for reinforcement

For the CL 215, lets go approx 35$, give or take 10%.
The goose, Most likely over 100$ in material. That is just loking at the numbers and useing an approx average fro prices, lets go .50c per stick balsa, depending on what you get for spruce, could be 1.50 to 4.00 per stick. Balsa blocks can get costly. Check out Pricing from GH or BUSA, ect... for breakcown on pricing. If you are set up, could always look at cutting your own stock from bulk.

Dons Balsa in Grimsby is a good place to get your stuff. Local to you as well so you can save the shipping and be able to go in person to select what you need and he would also be able to recommend some stuff as well.

I was going to mention you Don's Balsa also in Grimsby, I bought my wood to make wings of Concorde from him, it costed me $200 +- by the time i got it. He has all types of sizes and grades of balsa sheets, sticks, blocks and even have different type of aircraft grade plywood that can be cut to custom size!.
Visit him in person and select what you want....
